Plot
Meg Altman is estranged from her husband and has just moved into a luxury brownstone in Manhattan with her daughter Sarah. That same night, a group of burglars, led by the grandson of the man who previously owned it, break in, believing it to still be empty. They are looking for valuables locked inside a safe in the panic room—the very place that Meg and Sarah flee to when they realize there are intruders in the house. The burglars attempt to force them out and the stakes go higher as what was supposed to be a simple job for them descends into violence.
