Plot

Gangster patriarch Angelo "Snaps" Provolone (Sylvester Stallone) finds himself on the precipice of a seismic lifestyle shift as he makes a deathbed vow to his ailing father (Kirk Douglas). Leaving behind the shadowy underworld of crime, he embarks on an audacious journey to become a legitimate businessman. With a family legacy tarnished by delinquency, Snaps' path to redemption becomes a comedic rollercoaster of unforeseen complications and farcical misunderstandings. Undeterred by his glaring lack of business acumen, Snaps arranges a meeting with local bankers eager to exploit his ill-gotten wealth. Yet, his transformation does not go unnoticed. Rival mob boss Vendetti (Richard Romanus) becomes suspicious of Snaps' sudden withdrawal from criminal activities. Convinced that Snaps is brewing a grand scheme, Vendetti plans a deadly hit on him. Parallelly, Police Lieutenant Toomey (Kirkwood Smith), hell-bent on bringing Snaps down, has his men staked out across the mobster's mansion, escalating the tension to dizzying heights. The plot thickens as Snaps' young accountant, Anthony Rossano (Vincent Spano), arrives unexpectedly with news that is "a matter of life and death". Meanwhile, Snaps grapples with his clueless henchmen, who are more at home in crime than commerce, and the unforeseen predicament of Oscar (Jim Mulholland), the young man who has just impregnated his daughter. In this whirlpool of chaos and comedy, 'Oscar' weaves an unforgettable tale of a mobster's tumultuous transition to respectability, peppered with a dash of romance and a generous dose of humor.
