Plot

In the heart of the Pacific in 1943, with the shadow of World War II looming, comes a tale as tempestuous as the ocean itself, "Operation Bikini." American International's ingeniously crafted war film, teasingly framed in the allure of paradise, introduces us to an American submarine's crew, seasoned warriors like Scott Brady, Jim Backus, and Michael Dante, entrusted with a mission that could change the tide of the Pacific war. Their rendezvous with a cruiser sees the introduction of an underwater demolition team, a fresh generation of soldiers, which includes the likes of Tab Hunter, Frankie Avalon, Gary Crosby, and Jody McCrea. With the tantalizing promise of Eva Six in a bikini and the tagline "Temptation in Paradise...neither hell nor high heels could stop them," this artwork of cinema tactfully blends the allure of paradise with the harsh reality of war. Conflict sparks immediately as the submarine's seasoned crew feels robbed of their chance at avenging a fallen sister sub, as they must ferry the young demolition team to an island shrouded in secrecy. This island, teeming with enemy forces, holds the key to their mission's success. The island's guerilla support, consisting of an old man, a teen, and three girls, becomes their unlikely aid in this high-stakes mission. "Operation Bikini," with its artful blend of war's grim face and paradise's tantalizing allure, offers a unique cinematic journey, making the usual war film an unexpectedly enticing experience.
