Only Human (2004)

In the heart of Madrid, Leni introduces Rafi, her Palestinian partner, to her Jewish family. The household is a lively mix of characters, including Leni's mother, father, belly-dancing older sister, younger brother, daughter, and grandfather. Rafi, a Palestinian who has called Spain home since he was 12, finds himself in a cultural clash. Before Leni's father can return from work, she discloses Rafi's roots, causing an unexpected chain of events. An innocent mishap occurs when Rafi accidentally drops a frozen soup block from the apartment window, potentially claiming the life of an unsuspecting passerby below. Leni quickly masterminds a cover-up, and Rafi discovers the horrifying possibility that the victim might be Leni's father. The body mysteriously vanishes, and without letting the rest of the family in on their secret, Leni and Rafi launch a covert mission to find the missing patriarch. While the mother suspects a clandestine affair as the reason for her husband's disappearance, Leni's sister finds herself drawn to Rafi. Adding to the chaos, the brother brandishes a rifle, aiming to protect his family from the perceived threat. Amid a whirlwind of confusion, can the truth be uncovered and family bonds be restored?
