Plot

In the heart of a Northern Ireland town, on the seemingly ordinary day of 15th August 1998, the peace is shattered by the violent eruption of a Real IRA-planted bomb. The explosion, a rebellion against the Good Friday accords and the peace process, ruthlessly claims 29 innocent lives on the bustling streets of Omagh. In the aftermath, the grieving families unite to form the Omagh Support Group, a collective effort to urge the police for answers, for justice. The narrative lens of the film hones in on the Gallaghers, a family grappling with the loss of their son, Aiden. Michael Gallagher, a humble mechanic, finds himself thrust into the role of chair of the support group, his newfound responsibility creating tensions within his marital relationship. Meanwhile, the police hierarchy offers nothing but platitudes, their vague responses raising suspicions. As the story unfolds, elusive figures emerge from the shadows, providing intelligence that throws the integrity of the Royal Ulster Constabulary and its Special Branch into disarray, both prior to and following the bombing. The question looms large over the grief-stricken town of Omagh: Will the culprits remain hidden in the shadows, their heinous crime forever unsolved?
