Plot

Existing on the border of reality and performance, 'Olmo and the Seagull' is a compelling exploration of an actress's psyche over the course of her nine-month journey into motherhood. As her body prepares to bring new life, Olivia, our protagonist, finds herself battling her fiercest inner demons, pushing her to the brink of her own identity and the essence of love. Caught in the spell of Chekhov's 'The Seagull', Olivia, along with her partner Serge, find their lives and their roles on stage growing alarmingly indistinguishable. This haunting interplay between real and enacted life forms the crux of this hybrid narrative, creating an undercurrent of mounting tension that will leave the viewer questioning the authenticity of their own performance in life. 'Olmo and the Seagull' is more than just a film—it's an existential voyage through a labyrinth of self-discovery and philosophical debate, where the walls are paper-thin and the echoes of the mind are deafening. As Olivia endeavours to craft a fresh philosophy of life while navigating the turbulent waters of impending motherhood, we are invited to join her on this profound journey, bearing witness to her struggle, her strength, and the power of her performance.
