Plot
Claudia, a lifelong resident of a quaint, seaside working-class town, has known the same faces since her school days. She's devoted to her friends and spends her days serving at a local diner, all to help sustain her mother. Life's comfortable rhythm beats in time with her three-year relationship with Michael, her live-in boyfriend who's eager to advance their journey together with a proposal. Michael's love for her is palpable, but Claudia's heart beats to the rhythm of unexplored dreams, dreams that extend beyond the familiar. She fears that marriage may chain her to a life she's not ready to settle for.
Meanwhile, her sister Kelly, also a resident in their mother's house, embraces the challenge of raising her fatherless child with warmth and humor. Their mother, however, has become a homebound ghost since their father's abrupt departure six months ago, a departure Claudia oddly identifies with. She shares an untamed, restless streak with her absent father, a yearning for something more, something beyond her grasp. Yet, she struggles to pinpoint her unfulfilled desires.
The past makes an unexpected comeback with the return of Charlie, her erstwhile lover, from the distant west. His reappearance stirs up dormant feelings, making Claudia wonder if he might hold the key to the life she's yearning for. The answer might not be as simple, but Claudia must navigate the turbulent waters of love, dreams, and self-discovery to find out.
