In the wild, untamed landscapes of the Comstock Lode, a naive young cowboy named Jim Lacy (Robert Mitchum) stumbles upon a fortune, oblivious to its true worth. His world takes a brutal turn when he's wrongly accused of murdering Ben Ide (Larry Wheat), a fellow fortune seeker. The noose tightens around Jim's neck, yet salvation arrives in the form of two unlikely comrades - the feisty Chito Rafferty (Richard Martin) and robust Dusty (Guinn "Big Boy" Williams).
