Krissy Kringle is an anomaly in her family, indifferent to the Christmas spirit that her parents, Carol and Walter Kringle, so wholeheartedly embrace. The holiday season is made even more unbearable by her residence on Candy Cane Lane, a street obsessed with Christmas cheer and annual house decorating contests. Misfortune seems to follow Krissy like a shadow, from the Christmas-themed puns aimed at her to the annual pile of Santa's mail that mistakenly lands at her doorstep. Krissy's life takes a sharp twist when she loses her job at Purcell Advertising, dashing her hopes of an early Christmas promotion. The official reason, 'downsizing,' rings hollow to Krissy, particularly with an open position glaringly unoccupied. Seeking solace, she places her hopes on her longtime boyfriend, Lance Leigh, praying for a proposal that might bring some joy into her life. Financial necessity leads Krissy to accept a seasonal job as a mall gift wrapper and Santa's helper, a role that introduces her to the amiable Marco Webb. Amidst the chaos and disappointment, Krissy receives an unexpected package - a book titled "Naughty or Nice". This seemingly innocuous book reveals itself to be a record of people's misdeeds, including those of her acquaintances. Tempted by the power of the book, Krissy begins to call out the naughty activities of those around her. The revelations, however, prove to be a mixed blessing. As the book lays bare the indiscretions of those she knows, including Lance, Krissy confronts truths she might have been happier not knowing. The book's power forces Krissy to question her own actions, and she finds that her deeds may not fall entirely on the 'nice' side of the ledger. Faced with this reality, Krissy embarks on a journey of self-discovery. She learns that there are two sides to every story and that wielding power requires a heart of benevolence. Her greatest challenge lies in rectifying the wrongs at her old job, a task that will test what she's learned and, perhaps, rekindle her lost Christmas spirit.
