Black Christmas (2006)

In the haunting chiaroscuro of the 70's, Billy, a boy born with a jaundiced visage due to liver disease, is cast aside by his dysfunctional mother. Trapped within the attic's shadowy confines, he bears witness to his mother and her paramour committing the ultimate act of betrayal - the murder of his beloved father, whose body is entombed in the basement. As the years creep by, Billy's desolation twists into a living nightmare as his mother subjects him to unspeakable abuse and births a daughter, Agnes, who she showers with the love Billy has cruelly been denied. One fateful Christmas, the already fractured reality shatters completely when a deranged Billy breaks free from his attic prison. In a chilling act of vengeance, he slaughters his mother and her lover, leaving Agnes with a permanent, blinding reminder of their shared horror. His insanity acknowledged by the world, Billy is committed to the Clark Sanatorium while Agnes is dispatched to an orphanage, their lives forever marred by their mother's sins. Fast forward to the present, on a campus cloaked in wintry desolation sits the Delta Alpha Kappa sorority house, once Billy's childhood home. The house is filled with eight sorority sisters - Kelli, Dana, Lauren, Megan, Claire, Heather, Melissa, and a second Megan, along with their housemother. As they prepare for their Christmas party, the sorority house is buffeted by a raging storm outside and a brewing tempest within. Clair Crosby sits alone, penning a peace offering to her estranged sister. Suddenly, the festive ambiance is punctured by the disappearance of three sisters and a cascade of cryptic, menacing phone calls. Unbeknownst to them, Billy has escaped his sanatorium confines and is drawn back to his old home, driven by a dark desire to reunite with his family. As fear creeps in, the remaining sisters soon realize they're trapped, prey to an unseen predator lurking in their midst, a chilling echo of a Christmas past tainted with blood and madness.
