Plot

On a stormy night of June 29, 1792, in the rich cultural heartland of Ayodhya, Northern India, 11-year-old Neelkanth embarks on a spiritual quest that has long stirred his soul. He surrenders himself to the turbulent waters of the Saryu river, leaving his family and familiar world behind. As the torrent spits him out downstream, his barefoot pilgrimage spanning 7 years and 8,000 miles across the diverse tapestry of India commences. The youthful Yogi's journey weaves through an intricate labyrinth of villages where he becomes a beacon of spiritual illumination, yet politely declines any offer to anchor himself. He pacifies a mighty lion terrorizing a village, his tranquil aura taming the beast's wrath. With no more than his unwavering determination and the power of Yoga and meditation, he ventures into the icy embrace of the Himalayas. Battling the bitter elements, he ascends an 18,000-feet pass and journeys through the world's deepest gorge, the wild jungles, the lush rainforests, and along the whispering coastlines. In Jagannath Puri, the king recognizes his spiritual prowess and invites him to partake in the annual Rath Yatra, the vibrant Festival of Chariots. His journey culminates in the humble village of Loj in Gujarat, where he encounters the revered Ramanand Swami. Touched by Neelkanth's wisdom and humility, the great teacher passes on his mantle to the young Yogi. Embracing his new role, Neelkanth evolves into Bhagwan Swaminarayan, whose teachings continue to inspire millions, weaving a tapestry of unity in the rich diversity of India.
