As the dawn of a new century breaks, Denny O'Moore (Mickey Rooney), a young man from the bustling streets of New York City, embarks on a journey to the wild, untamed land of Texas. His mission is a surprise visit to his brother, Patrick (Robert Stack), who is toiling away in a silver mine across the rugged Mexico border. However, the reunion takes an unexpected turn when Denny crosses paths with Texas Ranger Joe Waldner (Robert Preston), a man who harbors suspicions about Patrick's connection with the infamous Mexican bandit, the elusive El Tigre. Their adventure takes a dark turn as they are ensnared by El Tigre's ruthless henchmen, only to make a daring escape. In a desperate plea for help, Denny turns to the enchanting Carmel Alvarado (Wanda Hendrix), Patrick's love, begging her to persuade Patrick to abandon the dangerous path he is treading. In the process, Denny finds himself helplessly falling for the spirited Carmel, further complicating the perilous situation. Simultaneously, the notorious El Tigre and his marauding gang are causing havoc across the Texas border, leaving a trail of theft and destruction in their wake. A bold ranger from Border City is assigned the daunting task of dismantling this gang, a journey that leads him into the heart of Mexico and into the brewing storm around Denny and his brother. As the tension mounts, Patrick, far from being pleased by the unexpected arrivals, finds himself entangled in a deadly web of crime and treachery. With the mysterious El Tigre and his gang converging on them, Denny, Waldner, and Carmen find themselves cornered in an ancient hacienda in Mexico, setting the stage for a dramatic showdown that will change their lives forever.
