Murder on Spec (2006)

In the captivating tale of Murder on Spec, Kate Graham, once the epitome of marital bliss, finds herself in a twisted knot of betrayal and deception. Her husband, Duke Fairbanks, after months of cold indifference and a scandalous affair with her confidante, Diana Coles, demands an abrupt divorce. Instead of accepting a near-million dollar prenuptial settlement, Kate chooses the house they once shared, while Duke retreats to a life of luxury on his yacht. However, his newfound freedom is short-lived, as his lifeless body is discovered on board soon after. Intrigue deepens when a mysterious man steps into the picture, claiming responsibility for Duke's demise 'for her' and demanding a slice of Duke's immense fortune. The predicament intensifies as Kate's close friend, a gay man, is wrongfully arrested and held without bail. Torn between fear and loyalty, she enlists the help of her lawyer to defend him.
