Plot

In the heart of a bustling chemical corporation, Barnaby Fulton, an earnest research chemist, embarks on a quest to create a fountain of youth pill. Amidst a flurry of test tubes and vials, Fulton becomes his own guinea pig, ingesting a trial dose of his concoction. However, an unexpected twist arises when a dose of an unknown mixture finds its way into the water cooler, leading Fulton to mistake its youthful effects for his own creation. Suddenly, Fulton's world is turned upside down as he experiences an impromptu trip back to his teens, complete with renewed vision and adolescent behavior. The situation spirals into comedic chaos when his wife, too, takes a swig from the tainted cooler, regressing further back into her childhood, her innocence charming yet bewildering. Her past resurfaces when an old flame, misinterpreting her childish refusal to recognize him as a desire for divorce, sees this as an opportunity to rekindle their relationship. Monkey Business (1952) skillfully weaves humor and unpredictability into the fabric of its narrative, exploring the hilarious consequences of misplaced youth and reawakened pasts.
