Plot

In the heart of Paris, 1657, renowned playwright and actor Molière finds his way back to the city's center stage, gifted by the King himself. His journey had been rich, traveling across the French kingdom with his dedicated troupe of performers. One day, an encounter with a young woman spirals him back into the labyrinth of his past, to a time when his troupe was on the brink of ruin and he found himself entrapped within the merciless jaws of prison. Thirteen years prior, Molière's lifeline appears in the form of the affluent Monsieur Jourdain. His freedom, however, comes with a price. Jourdain, an aspiring playwright, seeks Molière's expertise to polish a one-act play he penned. The play is his grand scheme to woo the radiant and young widow, Célimène. Considering his status as a married man, a "respectable" father of two, Jourdain's intentions must remain under wraps. Thus, Molière finds himself submerged in a world of masks and deception, introduced to Jourdain's household not as himself, but as Tartuffe, an austere priest. As drama unfolds both on and off the stage, the line between fiction and reality blurs, crafting a narrative that is charmingly deceptive and deliciously theatrical.
