Manorama Six Feet Under (2007)

In the arid landscapes of Rajasthan, Satyaveer Singh Randhawa, a Junior Engineer with Lahkot Municipality's Public Works Department, ekes out a modest existence with his wife, Nimmi, and son, Raju. As the region grapples with drought and scorching heat, the ambitious Irrigation Minister, P.P. Rathore, pledges to provide relief by diverting water from Haryana and Punjab through a controversial canal project. Satyaveer is also the author of a little-known novel 'Manorama', which sold a paltry 200 copies – a fact which has left him so disheartened that he refuses to keep a copy in his own library. Adding to his woes, he accepts a motorbike as a bribe from Seema Constructions, landing him in hot water and a job suspension pending an inquiry. In this testing phase, he is approached by Manorama Rathore, the Irrigation Minister's wife. She offers him a lifeline – twenty thousand rupees to collect evidence of her husband's infidelity. Unaware of the tangled web he is about to be ensnared in, Satyaveer accepts, setting in motion a chain of events that plunges him into a labyrinth of deception, betrayal, and danger. What follows is a whirlwind of lies and deceit that not only puts him at odds with Rathore and his menacing goons but also implicates him in the chilling murders of two lovers, Sameera, and Dr. Anil Poddar. As the plot thickens with the mysterious death of Manorama and the vanishing of an orphan named Deepti, Satyaveer must navigate through this perilous maze, where truth and illusion blur, and survival is as unpredictable as the desert winds.
