Plot

In the sun-soaked affluence of Malibu, Brad Gluckman, or "B-rad" (Kennedy), is an unlikely dreamer, a white boy lost in the fantasy of being a rap star from the "'hood." With a tongue that spits out street lingo and an attitude that screams ghetto, B-rad is a square peg in the round hole of his father's polished political world. As his father marches towards the governorship of California, B-rad is not just an embarrassment, but a potential roadblock on his path to success. In a desperate bid to rescue both his campaign and his son's identity, Brad's father, aided by his astute campaign manager (Underwood), devises a daring plan. They recruit two seasoned actors (Diggs and Anderson), transforming them into "real life gangstaz," and set about a mission to kidnap B-rad. He's abruptly dropped into the raw, unfiltered realities of Compton - the "real hood." The hope? To scare the faux-ghetto persona out of B-rad, to strip him of his imagined street cred, and to reawaken the privileged, white boy inside him. As B-rad navigates his way through the authentic experiences of the hood, the movie spins into a whirlwind of laughter, crafting a comedy that is as hilarious as it is insightful. Will the hood make or break B-rad? The answer promises a journey filled with unexpected twists, turns, and an abundance of side-splitting humor.
