In the heart of the bustling city, Mohan (Nagesh), a humble tailor, weaves a life filled with sacrifice and dedication for his younger sister Vimala (Jayalalitha). Orphaned at a tender age, Mohan's existence is deeply intertwined with fulfilling Vimala's dreams. However, their seemingly monotonous life is disrupted when the suave yet insidious Rajnikanth (AVM Rajan) enters their lives. Rajnikanth, a notorious womanizer, ensnares Vimala in a web of deceit, leading her to a tragic end. Devastated, Mohan confronts Rajnikanth, and in a flurry of fury, commits an act that would forever mark him as a fugitive, and instigates a relentless pursuit by the law. In his desperate bid for escape, Mohan finds an unlikely sanctuary in the home of 'Major' Chandrakanth (Sundarrajan), a retired army officer living in the shadows of his blindness. Amidst the looming danger, Mohan finds himself drawn to the stoic strength and unyielding virtues of Major Chandrakanth. He discloses his turbulent past and the reason for his flight from justice, unaware of the poignant twist of fate - the man he murdered was Chandrakanth's youngest son. Major Chandrakanth, upon learning this, is tormented by the irony of his son's misdeeds and Mohan's tragic circumstances. He grapples with the humiliation of nurturing a son like Rajnikanth and the empathy he feels for Mohan. However, the hand of justice, represented by Inspector Srikanth (Muthuraman), Chandrakanth's eldest son, is unyielding. In a dramatic climax, Mohan is arrested, along with Chandrakanth for harboring a criminal, bringing their entwined fates full circle.
