In the gritty underbelly of French society, Michel Maudet, an ex-paratrooper turned amateur boxer, finds himself defeated in his last fight. The sting of dishonor drives him to abandon the boxing ring. However, fate has a different path in store for him when he crosses paths with the enigmatic businessman and banker, Dieudonné Ferchaux. In need of a personal secretary and bodyguard, Ferchaux finds the perfect candidate in the resilient 25-year-old ex-paratrooper.
But Ferchaux is no ordinary employer. Hounded by French authorities for his illicit tax evasion activities, he finds himself on the brink of escape, planning a daring flight to America. Maudet, now entwined in the murky world of his employer, accompanies him. Yet, America is no safe haven for Ferchaux, who faces imminent extradition threats. His only option is a desperate dash to the lawless expanses of South America.
With a fortune in ill-gotten wealth at stake, intrigue deepens as Maudet begins to harbor his own clandestine intentions. As tensions mount, a thrilling cat-and-mouse game ensues, where loyalties are put to test, and only the craftiest will prevail.
