Plot

In the desolate expanse of a northern moor, an elderly duo, Rosamund Greenwood and Roy Evans, who are later revealed to be siblings, unintentionally strike down a young cyclist, portrayed by David Pugh. Rather than alerting authorities, the woman, driven by a mysterious impulse, brings the lifeless young man back to their isolated home. Here, she lovingly adorns him in the attire of another brother, a casualty of the Second World War, and attempts to engage the silent figure in dialogue, showing him her cherished photo albums. Meanwhile, her brother busies himself with a grim task, collecting timber to assemble a casket. Greenwood, the sole voice in the film, delivers a deeply moving portrayal of a woman desperately holding onto the fragments of her past. The specter of the War permeates their home, symbolized by an ominous aircraft propeller hanging from the ceiling, rigged by the woman to forestall her brother's efforts to bury their uninvited guest. The film, "Loving Memory," weaves elements of humanity, nostalgia, and haunting memories into a tale that captivates and leaves a lasting impression.
