Immersed in the world of corporate marketing for Swans Hotels, the work-driven Ally Wilson finds herself among the last two contestants on a reality TV dating show, "Happily Ever After." Initially swayed to join the show as an unconventional platform to promote her company, Ally is taken aback when charismatic bachelor Tanner Dillon selects her for the final series of dates. What surprises her more is the location of these dates - her quaint hometown of Winterland, a Vermont ski resort she hasn't visited since her ambitious departure to college. As Ally embarks on this unexpected journey, she anticipates introducing Tanner to her parents, Tom and Molly Wilson. However, the thought of confronting her past, including her childhood adversary "Mean" Helene and her high school love, Brett Hollister, fills her with trepidation. Brett, the one who let her go when she pursued her dreams in Southern California, now manages the Winterlight Inn, the very place where Ally's passion for the hotel business was ignited. Upon her return, Ally discovers that while many things have changed in Winterland, some remain eerily the same. The once-thriving Winterlight Inn now struggles to sustain itself due to shorter tourist seasons, a consequence of climate change. But even in the face of these changes, Ally can't help but wonder if her feelings for Brett have also remained the same. Caught in this unfolding love triangle, Ally's fate is further swayed by the show's producer, Lauren Burns. With an uncanny ability to perceive the unseen through her lens, Lauren not only seeks to create captivating TV but also hopes to guide the contestants towards true love. As the cameras roll, will Ally's heart guide her to the right end or will the scripted reality lead her astray?
