She fills her days with vintage fashion from the 1950s and planning the city's cherished Thanksgiving Day Parade, an event she perceives as a bearer of enduring memories for its viewers. However, Emily's serene world threatens to crumble when her boss reveals that a consultant, Henry Williams, has been hired to bolster the parade's profitability. Henry, a wealthy businessman with a reputation for demolishing heritage to erect modern monoliths, strikes Emily as a man solely driven by bottom-line considerations, devoid of sentiment for tradition or history.
