Love and Bullets (1979)

In the sun-scorched city of Phoenix, seasoned cop Charlie Congers finds himself embroiled in a bitter personal grudge against notorious mob boss, Joe Bomposa. Witnessing the venomous impact of Bomposa's illicit drug trade on society, Congers is consumed by an insatiable determination to bring him down. However, Bomposa is a master puppeteer, shielded by a fortress of wealth, political influence, and a legion of lawyers. Despite the mounting charges, he remains untouchable, continuing his reign of crime unchecked. A glimmer of hope emerges unexpectedly in the form of Bomposa's air-headed blonde girlfriend, Jackie Pruit. She is summoned to testify before a Senate investigation committee. Although she displays no intention of collaboration, the very possibility of her spilling secrets sets off alarm bells for Bomposa. His paranoid fears are fuelled by his mobster allies and cunning lawyer, prompting him to send her off on a Swiss vacation, far from the prying eyes of the Senate. However, when news of FBI agents on her trail reaches them, they resort to a dangerous plan - to silence her permanently by contracting a hit-man in Switzerland. Unable to intervene on foreign soil, the FBI turns to the only man who can possibly outmaneuver Bomposa - Charlie Congers. Congers, driven by duty and vengeance, embarks on a perilous journey to Switzerland. His mission: to extract a confession from the seemingly naive Miss Pruit, who unknowingly holds the key to Bomposa's downfall. However, with Bomposa's ruthless killers hot on her trail, Congers must race against time to persuade her, protect her, and bring her back to American soil. The stage is set for an international game of cat and mouse, where every second counts and the stakes could not be higher.
