Plot

In the heart of a foster home, we find Lola, a fiercely independent 18-year-old with striking bleach-blonde hair, her only companion being Samir, a steadfast friend. She navigates the tumultuous waters of loneliness and impulsivity while striving to earn her veterinary assistant diploma. Life takes a sorrowful turn when her mother passes away, and her estranged father, Phillip, ensures she misses the farewell ceremony. Rewind two years, and we find the root of their discord - Lola, then Lionel, was banished from the family home by Phillip. Now, Phillip is driven by a promise to his late wife, Catherine - to return her ashes to the dunes of the North Sea, where the echoes of her childhood still linger. Lola, fueled by her anger towards her father yet unwilling to let her mother embark on her final journey alone, finds herself in an uncomfortable alliance. Thus, they embark on a reluctant road trip, their shared car becoming a battleground of unspoken words and unresolved issues. Each harboring a steadfast determination to fulfill Catherine's last wish, they set off on a journey that is as much about mending familial fractures as it is about taking Catherine home.
