Plot

In the heart of the timberlands, Linda, a young woman of gentle heart and romantic spirit, is coerced into a loveless marriage by her domineering father. Her husband is Decker, an elderly lumberman who, despite his rough exterior, perceives Linda's unhappiness and strives to lighten her burdens. Amidst the towering pines and relentless sawmills, a spark of love ignites between Linda and the compassionate Dr. Randall. Yet, Linda remains bound by duty and honor to her husband. The story takes an intriguing turn when a cunning stranger arrives, claiming to be Decker’s first and legitimate spouse. This unexpected revelation pushes Linda towards new horizons. She moves to the city, finding solace in the home of her old schoolteacher while her path crosses once again with Dr. Randall. However, the call of her past echoes, pulling her back into the remoteness of the timberlands when Decker is gravely injured in a lumbering mishap. Unraveling the truth about the woman who posed as Decker's wife and discovering her deception, Linda, steadfast and noble, stands by Decker until his last breath. With the timberlands whispering stories of love, loss, and courage, Linda and Dr. Randall are finally free to explore the love they've been denied, promising a future brimming with shared joy and fulfillment.
