Plot

In the bustling suburbs just beyond London's reach, we find the quirky yet endearing family of Wendy, Andy, and their twenty-something twin daughters, Natalie and Nicola. Wendy, a vibrant woman full of vaudevillian charm, divides her time between a modest shop clerk job, leading lively aerobics at a local primary school, and serving tables at a friend's budding restaurant. She adores her husband, Andy, a culinary whizz who often drowns in procrastination and impulsively purchases a decrepit lunch van with a boisterous, inebriated friend. Their daughters, Natalie and Nicola, are as different as chalk and cheese. Natalie, with her neatly cropped hair and a sharp, witty demeanor, is a plumber with an adventurous holiday to America on the horizon. Nicola, on the other hand, is the family's enigma: a tangled mass of nerves and wild hair hidden behind large glasses, she battles bulimia, unemployment, and a heavy cloud of discontent. The film delicately unravels the intricate tapestry of this family, exploring the tangles of conflict, the knots of love, and the complex patterns of interaction. "Life is Sweet" is a vibrant exploration of a family's shared journey through life's sour and sweet moments.
