Whatever Works (2009)

Boris Yellnikoff claims to be a genius in a number of fields, and the Columbia professor specializing in string theory and quantum physics certainly had some credentials to back it up. The problem is that he's insufferably cynical and self-certain. It's out of character for him to allow a Mississippi runaway into his apartment, but they both find the arrangement to be surprisingly beneficial. She's naive and looking to figure out who she is, and Boris is always happy to push his opinions on others. It's a potentially toxic relationship that only becomes more so when her parents arrive from out of town.
