Lend a Paw (1941)

In the icy grasp of winter, Pluto, our beloved canine, is adventuring outdoors when an odd noise piques his curiosity. The source: a helpless kitten ensnared in a bag, adrift on an ice floe in a freezing creek. With his heart pounding, Pluto executes a daring rescue, only to lose interest when the bag's contents reveal the tiny feline. However, the kitten, with its unwavering determination, trails Pluto back to their warm abode. To Pluto's dismay, Mickey, the ever-loving master, takes an immediate fondness to the new arrival. Torn between his jealousy and his moral compass, Pluto finds himself embroiled in a fierce inner conflict, personified by his devil and angel aspects. As the devilish side incites him to set the innocent kitten up for mischief, it's the goldfish, Bianca, who unveils Pluto as the true mischief-maker, resulting in him being banished outdoors. The plot thickens when the kitten, in its naivety, falls into a well. In this moment of crisis, it's the angelic side of Pluto that triumphs, vanquishing the devilish influence and inspiring him to come to the kitten's rescue.
