Lead with Your Heart (2015)

In the quaint town of Campbell, Minnesota, resides the Walker family - Maura, a bank manager with an adventurous spirit and a love for the arts, and Ben, a county recreation supervisor with a conservative outlook and undying enthusiasm for baseball. They are high school sweethearts with two children, Lacey, who is away at college, and Adam, on the brink of leaving for college, thus leaving Maura and Ben to face an impending empty nest. Despite their enduring affection for each other, their contrasting personalities and varied interests are gradually pulling them apart, a fact they fear to confront, especially with Adam no longer around to bridge their differences. When Maura receives a prestigious six-week secondment in Minneapolis at the bank's headquarters, an opportunity she has worked towards her entire career, the couple decides to test the waters of a long-distance relationship. However, the potential permanence of Maura's relocation raises tensions, as Ben, a creature of habit, is resistant to the idea of relocating to the bustling city, especially with no open positions available in his field. Their experiment of living apart while still being married radiates signs of impending disaster, causing worry among those around them, including their children. Lacey, home from college for the summer, chooses to stay with Maura, while Adam remains in Campbell with Ben. They both take on the responsibility of ensuring the family's unity. However, they fear that certain individuals, like Ben's co-worker Sienna Halvorson, a past rival of Maura's for Ben's affection, and the sophisticated, art-loving bank president Thomas Hardison, might exploit the situation to their advantage. If Maura and Ben are to salvage their marriage, they must first acknowledge the problems they face. The journey of finding solutions becomes a test of their love, commitment and their willingness to adapt, in a world that's constantly changing. The fate of their relationship hangs in the balance, adding a touch of suspense to their tale.
