Plot

In the heart of the unforgiving storm that reroutes a Chicago-bound flight to an impromptu layover in Detroit, we find Susanne, the bristly wife of hotel tycoon Hollingsworth and the heiress to his grand empire. Her deep-seated anger, sparked by the unexpected delay, ignites into a fiery fury directed at her assistant, Rebecca White, who fails to secure a swift exit or a suitable hotel for the demanding heiress. Susanne, renowned for her abrasive nature and her unwavering affection for her pampered canine, finds herself in an unfamiliar and grimy motel on the outskirts of Detroit. Her incessant complaints about the noisy neighbors take a chilling turn when they result in her abduction. The culprits are Vlad's ruthless gang of Russian human traffickers, who have ensnared unsuspecting local girls under the pretense of an enticing East European modeling contest. After recognizing her high-profile value, they transform Susanne from an inconvenient witness to a prized captive. When Rebecca then realizes that Susanne is missing, the company dispatches a high-ranking executive and engages the FBI. Yet, it's Rebecca, the underappreciated P.A., who holds the key to deciphering the cryptic ransom message left behind. Now, she must navigate the perilous labyrinth of this criminal underworld, summoning all her courage to rescue the woman who has made her life a living nightmare. The suspenseful narrative of 'Layover' spirals into an intense tale of survival, resilience, and the unexpected bonds that arise in the face of adversity.
