The Jackal (1997)

The FBI and its Russian counterpart, the MVD, team up to take out a powerful Azerbaijani crime lord. They end up killing their target, but that draws the ire of the crime lord’s brother. He hires an internationally feared assassin known only as “The Jackal” to take out the FBI director in revenge. A global manhunt is launched to find The Jackal. But the only man who knows the notorious killer-for-hire's true identity is imprisoned IRA terrorist Declan Mulqueen. A deal is made to spring Mulqueen from behind bars so that he can find and kill The Jackal.
