In the picturesque setting of Smith Mountain Lake, the lives of two sisters, Sara and Lily, take divergent paths. Sara, a determined law student, leaves the tranquil lake and her family, embarking on a journey to the bustling city of Los Angeles. Lily, a local artist ensconced in the family home, lives under the watchful eyes of their parents, Ray and Vivian. As she helps settle her father's estate, the sisters and their mother cross paths with a motley assembly of eccentric locals, including a few genuine Smith Mountain Lake personalities. Together, they embark on a whimsical quest, seeking a mythical creature purported to dwell in the lake's mysterious depths, much akin to the legendary Loch Ness Monster. The following week at the lake unravels a tapestry of adventure, tears, and laughter. Guided by the lingering spirit of their father, Vivian and her daughters embark on a journey of self-discovery. They grapple with the question of their place on the lake, in a world without Ray. Their lives intersect in a remarkable convergence at the Smith Mountain Lake Wine Festival, setting the stage for a hilarious and heartwarming collision. As they navigate this emotional whirlwind, they discover the strength of familial bonds and the enduring magic of their lake-side home.
