In the turbulent world of 14-year-old Miguel, life is a whirlwind of confusion and desperation. Facing a looming return to the minors' centre, Miguel's world is steeped in chaos as his mother, unemployed and emotionally unstable, proves incapable of caring for him. His days are filled with a constant hustle; cleaning house, hawking Kleenex on the streets, and resorting to supermarket theft, all in a bid to survive. Yet, this precarious existence is shattered when the ominous shadow of Social Services looms closer, forcing his mother to send him to the home of Bogdan, her Rumanian ex-lover residing in a nearby town.
Parallel to Miguel's chaotic life, María, a compassionate bar owner, takes an interest in the boy, offering him a semblance of maternal affection he is starved of at home. However, the fragile balance of Miguel's world is tipped when his mother inexplicably vanishes, thrusting his life into an even deeper vortex of uncertainty. This compelling narrative explores a young boy's struggle to survive amidst the turmoil of his life, offering a poignant portrayal of resilience in the face of adversity.
