Plot

In the wake of a single tumultuous week, fifteen-year-old Howie finds his world disintegrating as he grapples with the devastating loss of his mother. His father, a preoccupied building contractor, is more engrossed with his youthful girlfriend than his own son, leaving Howie to sail the turbulent seas of adolescence largely unattended. Drawn into the allure of rebellion, Howie and his band of compatriots delve into a dangerous spree of burglary, targeting the middle-class homes lining the Long Island Expressway. In this dance with danger, Howie and his closest ally, Gary, trespass into the home of Big John, a revered local figure. When Big John identifies Gary as the culprit, Howie is thrust into a startling revelation - his friend has been living a secret double life, as perilous as it is intriguing. However, as they plunge deeper into this maelstrom, it becomes apparent that Big John, their adversary, harbors clandestine truths of his own. In this whirlwind of loss, betrayal, and discovery, Howie stumbles upon the path to self-discovery, finding himself amidst the chaos.
