Kicking Off (2015)

In the throes of a tumultuous season, die-hard fans Wigsy (Warren Brown) and Cliff (Greg McHugh) stand shoulder-to-shoulder amidst a sea of fervent supporters, their voices rising in unison every Saturday, rallying their team towards victory. But this Saturday carries a weight unlike any other. Victory ensures survival; defeat signals downfall. As the clock ticks down to the final moments of the match, an exhilarating rush of triumph at a scored goal swiftly spirals into crushing despair as the referee (Alistair Petrie) overrules it, a decision further soured by a sudden score by the opposition, sparking a chaotic uproar amongst the dejected fans. However, for the disillusioned Wigsy and his more hesitant friend Cliff, the aimless rioting offers no real solution. Fueled by a burning desire to rectify this perceived injustice, they find themselves veering off the beaten path. In their audacious quest for retribution, the unlikely duo inadvertently form their own two-man squad, setting forth on a daring mission - the kidnapping of the referee.
