Plot

In the ghostly labyrinth of an abandoned cityscape, where the echo of human laughter has long since faded into silence, a chilling tale unfolds. The eerily deserted streets are home to a sinister game of 'Otokoyo'; a game of hide and seek played only after the sun has kissed the world goodnight. Here, the whispering wind carries rumors that those who dare to play will be spirited away by unseen demons that lurk in the shadows. Into this spectral city ventures a young boy named Hikora, his heart heavy with a purpose that eclipses fear. He is among eight children who, each driven by their own compelling reasons, choose to partake in this perilous game. Hikora’s motive is the most poignant of all; he's in search of his sister, who vanished like a wisp of smoke after playing this very game. As the night deepens and the game commences, the city's cloak of darkness writhes with the unspeakable. It soon becomes terrifyingly clear that the urban legends whispered in hushed tones are rooted in a horrific truth. One by one, the children disappear, snatched by invisible hands of the night. Amidst the escalating fear, Hikora must face the terrifying reality of what it truly means to be "it" in this deadly game of 'Otokoyo'. In 'Kakurenbo: Hide & Seek', the boundary between reality and nightmare blurs, leaving behind a haunting echo that will chill you to your very core. A chilling blend of innocence lost and terror found, this tale ensures you'll never see hide and seek in the same light again.
