The Stepford Wives (2004)

Successful, award-winning producer TV network producer Joanna Eberhart suddenly fired from the network, suffers a nervous breakdown. Her husband, Junior executive of the network, Walter, decides to retire at the same time. The couple decides to move from their home in Manhattan to Stepford, Connecticut, with their two children. Stepford, a community, known for its low crime, seems perfect in every way. The lawns are perfect, the houses are excellent, and even the women look perfect with their flawless complexions and figures. However, these women garden, exercise, clean their homes and knit in beautiful dresses while having no other interests outside their household and marital duties. With much relief, Eberhart makes a couple of good friends who are also new to Stepford, an overweight Jewish intellectual writer named Bobbie Markowitz and Roger. He and his husband are also new to the area. All three know that something is not right about the seemingly perfect town, and they are determined to find out.
