In the whirlwind of high school life, unassuming sophomore Michael Peck, a delicate 104-pound intellectual, finds himself lost in the crowd. When his dreams of joining the wrestling team are crushed by his scholarly parents, they instead force him into a legally binding contract to join the Science Club. His life takes an unexpected turn when he skips school with his best friend Geiger, leading him to cross paths with two senior girls, Emily and Becca. Peck finds himself drawn to Emily, an outgoing senior who sees beyond his nerdy exterior. Despite their vastly different levels of worldly wisdom, a fragile relationship blossoms. As he navigates this new relationship and the pressures of school, Peck is involuntarily thrust into the creation of a science fair project.
