This is the real life story of how FBI informant William O'Neal infiltrated the Black Panther Party and brought down the magnetic revolutionary leader Chairman Fred Hampton. O'Neal's on the hook for car theft, but he finds himself both enjoying the thrill of the game and conflicted by his genuine respect for Hampton. As Hampton rises in power, he finds a woman who can help him shape a more nuanced message and be the emotional lightning rod his people need. But FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover has no tolerance for black liberation. A messy conflict between the FBI and Panthers is inevitable.
