On the eve of Christmas and the brink of his 21st birthday, John navigates the underbelly of Los Angeles as a hustler on the notorious Santa Monica Blvd. His birthday dream is to luxuriate in the grandeur of the upscale Park Plaza Hotel. To fund this escapade, he daringly swindles a local drug dealer, only to wake up shoeless, the stolen money vanished. Alongside this chaotic scramble, John is pursued by the innocent Donner, a newcomer to the streets with dreams of escaping to Camelot, a fantastical theme park in Branson, MO, where lifeguard jobs await them. As the day unravels, John is caught in a whirlwind of trying to re-hustle his stolen money, dodging the sinister Jimmy the Warlock, keeping his girlfriend appeased, all while wrestling with the decision of whether to embrace or reject Donner's naive offer of friendship and a new life.
