Plot

Steeped in the raw turmoil of an unmarked African nation, Johnny Mad Dog spins a chilling narrative about a band of adolescent warriors, led by the fierce and troubled Johnny, perhaps only 15 years old. Their war cries echo the chilling mantra, "Don't want to die? Don't be born," as they embark on a relentless march towards the country's capital, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Among the young savages are the likes of No Good Advice, Butterfly, and Chicken Hair, each contributing to the savage tableau of pillage, murder, and terror. As the camera captures their ruthless takeover of a local TV station and a daring assault on the President's residence, the narrative also weaves in the story of Laokole. A girl of Johnny's age, Laokole grapples with her own battles, striving to keep her disabled father and younger brother safe amid the mounting chaos. Johnny Mad Dog is a study of contrasts; the unspeakable inhumanity of children raised on violence and the desperate struggle for normalcy in a world gone mad. A hardened warrior since the tender age of 10, one is left to wonder if there is anything left within Johnny beyond the hardened shell of the soldier. The film is an unflinching exploration of the grim realities of war, a terrifying dance between chaos and survival.
