Plot

In the heart of the Fifteenth Century, the nation of France lies defeated, its soul crushed under the weight of the Hundred Years War against England. Amidst this despair emerges a beacon of hope, a fourteen-year-old farm girl named Joan of Arc. Joan, guided by ethereal voices from the heavens, believes she is chosen to lead God's Army to liberate Orleans and crown the hesitant Dauphin Charles VII as the rightful King of France. Awakening the spirit of her downtrodden countrymen with her unwavering faith, Joan amasses an army, a human tide of resilience that washes over Orleans, reclaiming it from the English. Her astonishing clairvoyance and spiritual prowess propel her to the helm of this force, startling even the Dauphin himself into rallying behind her cause. However, as Joan and her army set their sights on Paris, the corrupted Charles VII betrays his nation, bartering his country's fate to the English and disbanding the army. The once invincible Joan is seized, sold to the Burgundians of England, and subjected to a disgraceful political trial in the ominous shadows of Rouen castle. In this tumultuous tale of faith, betrayal, and divine intervention, we follow Joan of Arc, a humble peasant girl who becomes the torchbearer of a nation's hope, only to be ensnared by the very forces she sought to vanquish.
