Plot

In the vibrant pulse of Manhattan, Jeffrey, a single gay actor moonlighting as a waiter, finds himself caught in a dilemma. His once thrilling passion for sex has lost its allure in the shadow of the A.I.D.S. epidemic. Despite residing in a universe filled with multiple sexual partners, Jeffrey decides to tread the path of chastity, hoping this newfound discipline will fuel his career and other significant aspects of his life. His close friend, Sterling, an interior decorator leading a monogamous life with his chorus boy partner, Darius—who is HIV positive—suggests a different solution. He proposes that Jeffrey needs a boyfriend to vanquish his A.I.D.S. fears, much like Sterling has done with Darius. However, witnessing the life of Sterling and Darius, Jeffrey grapples with a new fear—falling in love with someone who might die on him due to the dreaded disease. Just as Jeffrey embarks on his celibate journey, fate intervenes in the form of Steve, a captivating man who could have been his next fling, or perhaps, his Mr. Right. Steve sees potential in Jeffrey, but there's a catch—Steve is HIV positive. This revelation forces Jeffrey to reevaluate his decision. He now stands at a crossroads, grappling with the question of whether love is worth the risk of loss. Through his journey, Jeffrey seeks advice from various quarters—professional and non-professional, including Sterling and Darius. The film explores Jeffrey's critical examination of his life choices, as he strives to lead a fulfilling life as a gay man in a world grappling with the A.I.D.S. epidemic. His story is a testament to the human spirit's resilience, the complexities of love, and the bittersweet realities of life.
