Plot

In an effort to heal from heartbreak, a woman isolates herself, subsisting solely on powdered sugar for more than a month. Her monochromatic existence is punctuated by the relentless repainting of her room and the obsessive reiteration of a letter to her ex-lover. Her words, raw and revealing, blanket the barren floor. As she surrenders to the waiting, her sugar stores deplete, leaving her with an insatiable hunger. Driven by necessity, she hails a truck in the darkness, embarking on a meandering journey with the trucker. Their pit stops at roadside diners and dimly-lit bars become a stage for intimate confessions. She provides him with a sexual favor, he reciprocates with tales of his own domestic entanglements. Their shared vulnerability paints the dark highways with shades of companionship. Her journey culminates at her ex-lover's doorstep - a woman who initially rejects her plea to stay. But her hunger, both physical and emotional, softens her lover's resolve. She is fed, then allowed to stay the night. As they rekindle their lost intimacy, the woman finds herself caught in the throes of love, longing, and an unending pursuit of closure.
