In the literary world of San Francisco, Frances Mayes is a respected professor, reviewer, and author, wrestling to pen her latest book. Her seemingly idyllic life spirals into chaos when her husband blindsides her with a divorce, intending to marry his mistress. Despite Frances having financially supported his book writing journey, he audaciously demands alimony, leaving Frances on shaky financial ground while also claiming their house.
