Plot

In the enthralling whirlwind of a film, "Jane White Is Sick & Twisted," Kim Little embodies Jane, a female parallel to Chance the Gardener from "Being There," and is engrossed in her television-induced fantasies. Like a modern-day Alice lost in a disorienting wonderland, Jane's reality is warped by the hypnotic glow of the television screen. Believing the notorious talk-show host Gerry King, played by David L. Lander - the iconic Squiggy from "Laverne and Shirley" - to be her estranged father, Jane is drawn into a peculiar odyssey. Living under the stifling care of her agoraphobic mother, portrayed by Alley Mills of "The Wonder Years," Jane is desperate to escape her mother's grasp. Her escape route: a twisted quest to land a guest spot on Gerry's show, even if it means transforming into the most outrageous of sideshow attractions. Her journey, akin to a distorted version of Dorothy's trek through Oz, takes her through a parade of transvestites, aliens, serial killers, and a kaleidoscope of eccentric characters. "Jane White Is Sick & Twisted" is a darkly humorous romantic comedy in which Jane's obsession with reconnecting with her imagined father drives her to the brink of sanity. This film captures the outlandish lengths to which Jane will go to meet her long-lost dad, immersing viewers in an enthralling narrative where reality and television-inspired delusion merge into an unforgettable adventure.
