Plot
In the exotic heart of Marrakech, British scholar John Locke finds himself on a surreal journey through the life of the legendary painter Delacroix. His seclusion in an antiquated villa, accompanied only by Belkis, his enigmatic servant and confidante, creates a mysterious aura around him. Intrigue knocks on his door in the form of provocative slides that could be Delacroix's long-lost erotic sketches, suggested by an eccentric antique dealer who dabbles in medicine and may secretly be a white slave trader.
As Locke delves deeper into these artifacts, his dreams become a kaleidoscope of intense and dark fantasies. These nocturnal visions are filled with renderings of sado-masochistic indulgence with submissive young women, and the spectral image of a woman dressed in white. This spectral woman, potentially a tragic figure from the nineteenth century, executed for her illicit liaison with a Frenchman, bears a striking resemblance to a local actress.
Despite Belkis's cautionary advice, the allure of these invitations proves too tempting for Locke to resist. As he embarks on a journey that blurs the borders between dreams and reality, tableaux and truth, one can't help but wonder if anything authentic will transpire. Will Locke remain a prisoner of his dreams, or will he unlock a reality more captivating than his wildest fantasies? The plot ensnares the viewer in a web of suspense, leaving them yearning to unravel the truth behind Locke's peculiar world.
