Plot

In the heart-stirring saga of Ishqiya (2010), we turn the pages of an unexpected tale of love, treachery, and desperation, set amidst the vibrant hues of India's heartland. Khalu (Naseeruddin Shah), an aging romantic, and his roguish nephew, Babban (Arshad Warsi), find themselves on the run, their pockets overflowing with cash swindled from Mushtaq (Rajesh Sharma), Khalu's dangerous brother-in-law from Lucknow. Their desperate escape plan leads them to the doorstep of the late Vidyadhar Verma in Gorakhpur, only to discover that their sanctuary is no more. Instead, they find refuge in the arms of Krishna, Verma's entrancing widow. However, their safe haven crumbles when Mushtaq tracks them down, his wrath only to be quelled by the return of his stolen cash. As the stakes rise, the stolen fortune vanishes as mysteriously as it came, leaving Khalu and Babban tangled in a web of uncertainty and racing against time. With the shadow of Raksha Bandhan looming, and their love for Krishna blossoming, they concoct a daring plan - the abduction of Kamalkant Kakkad, a wealthy businessman from Ghaziabad. In Ishqiya, love sneaks in through the backdoor, wrapping its tendrils around the hearts of our unconventional protagonists in the most unforeseen ways. Yet, as they navigate this labyrinth of emotions and looming threats, they are blissfully unaware of the treacherous twists that destiny has in store for them. This masterful narrative infuses the unpredictability of love into the chaotic beauty of life, making Ishqiya a roller coaster of emotions and suspense that you won't want to miss.
