Plot
It's 1959, and legendary martial artist Ip Man — who will eventually become the mentor to Bruce Lee — is living a quiet life with his wife and son. But he soon finds trouble when a property developer begins harassing his son's school. Ip Man doesn't take kindly to men trying to undermine the education system, and both he and his disciples help the police guard the school. But he's having personal struggles as well. His wife's battle with cancer isn't an issue he can resolve by punching it, but he does find himself being challenged by another master of Wing Chun.
