Invasion Force (1990)

In the dense woods surrounding Mobile, Alabama, a passionate film crew from American International Pictures is striving to bring a low-budget action movie to life. Renowned director, Ben Adams, is wrestling with a dwindling budget and a hot-headed producer who threatens to pull the plug on the movie if the pace of filming doesn't quicken. Meanwhile, Jodi Marshall, their leading lady, grapples with a persistently flirtatious co-star and her rekindling feelings for Ben, a past lover. As the drama unfolds behind the scenes, an unexpected threat descends from the sky. A squadron of heavily armed soldiers, led by the rogue former U.S. Special Forces officer Michael Cooper, parachute into the vicinity with a sinister agenda. Their mission: to seize the city and its unsuspecting inhabitants, demanding a hefty ransom in return. When Ben, Jodi, and the rest of the crew uncover the silent invasion, they realize they're in the crosshairs of the invading force, slated to be eliminated to prevent any warnings to the authorities. Drawing on nothing but their courage, wit, and a collection of movie prop guns that are suddenly their only real defense, the film crew decides to confront the formidable enemy, transforming from filmmakers to unlikely heroes in their own real-life action epic.
